Goodbye, BC

I spent my last few days in British Columbia in the southern part, leaving the snow covered mountains for the beauty of the Vancouver area.

Rob Ross
One highlight was a night with the Ross family on The Sunsetter, a beautiful wooden boat where they live. My good friend Dwayne Powell and I stayed there, enjoying a great guitar session along with a short cruise in the waters of Steveson Harbor.

Good 'ol Starbucks.

My trip was wonderful in every way. Good fellowship with friends old and new, in an amazing setting of mountains, forests and ocean. As with all of my travels, most inspiring was the genuine love of those who serve Christ. I'm always brought back to John 13:35 where Jesus taught that "By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another." I am deeply grateful for so many who have shown this love to me, and want to grow in loving others.

Hope this finds all well!

Prince George Postings

Howdy from Prince George, BC! I am enjoying the hospitality of the great folks up in this neck of the woods, and continuing to work on the language. It's coming along, and I'm hoping to be able to speak without an interpreter soon. We'll see how it goes.

The area I've traveled is beautiful. Gorgeous mountain peaks, rugged landscapes filled with icy rivers and snow covered trees, and miles of endless forests.

As I view God's creation, I can understand a little better Psalm 95:3-4. "For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the deep places of the earth, the strength of the hills is his also."

We've had pretty good luck with traveling, and roads have not been too bad. Tomorrow I head back to the Vancouver area, with the last meeting being there on Sunday. I will plan to update once more, when I return to Portland next week.

Always good to know.

British Columbia

Howdy from Beautiful British Columbia. I'm up here for several weeks of special meetings, and have just arrived in Terrace. You can find it about halfway up the province, on the west side.

If you follow the red highway from Vancouver over to the east to Golden then north to Valemount and on up to Terrace, you will have traveled in four seconds what took me four days. It's a bit of a haul at a little over 1,100 miles of snow covered roads and stormy conditions, but we all arrived in one piece and now will work our way back south.

The north route that I'm on is as follows:

Sunday, December 4th - Terrace
Tuesday, December 6th - Smithers
Sunday, December 11th - Prince George
Tuesday, December 13th - Quesnel
Sunday, December 18th - Vancouver

And Me

Huge amounts of British Columbia are covered in forest and mountains, and the top half is nearly uninhabited with the exception of a few logging and mining towns. All of the areas I will be in until I get back to Vancouver will be populated primarily with people who work in the timber industry.

It's a beautiful place, and I've tried to take a few pictures, but for the most part have been skunked due to stormy weather. Not sure how often I'll update on this trip, but will try to take more photos when it clears up, and post them when I get a chance.

Hope this finds all well!
